Palo Alto Medical Foundation says some vaccines were compromised
Officials with Sutter Health’s Palo Alto Medical Foundation announced Tuesday that about 4,300 children may have been given compromised vaccines.
In mid-March, PAMF found that a vaccine storage refrigerator in its Los Gatos pediatric office was not working properly. It wasn’t holding temperatures consistently in the range at which vaccines are optimally stored.
This happened between February 2014 and March 17, 2015. During that time, temperatures in the refrigerator had dipped to 30 and 31 degrees, lower than the recommended temperature of 32 degrees.
