Johnson & Johnson’s Award Winning Cool Chain Project
Last month saw Johnson & Johnson win the Best Temperature Controlled Logistics Project Award at the 2016 Temperature Controlled Logistics Awards. This was in relation to organising the supply chain through Sierra Leone for the shipment and storage of an Ebola vaccine.
Industry commentators noted that a reinforced cold chain would be essential to preserve the stablility of the Ebola vaccine which required shipment on dry ice, needed to be stored at -20°C and transported at below -5°C. The therapeutic required storage at the clinic between 2-8°C and to be administered below 25°C.
