Course to Cover Extension of Lithium Battery Shipping Rule for Non-Air Transport
The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) has extended the mandatory compliance date of a final rule for lithium battery transportation via modes other than air, the agency reports on its Web site. While air transport must now comply as of February 6, 2015, with the rule published on August 6, 2014, under Docket No. HM-224F, other modes of transport such as ground transportation have until August 7, 2015.
