Supply Chain Manager – OvaScience – Cambridge, MA, USA

This is a new position reporting to the Director of Supply Chain. In this role, you will be responsible to ensure inventory levels are mantained at our global processing labs and supporting regional inventory depots, in accordance with internal policies in addition to working on supply chain projects. Primary activities include coordinating shipments and other related activities to supply our cell processing labs, working with internal departments including Inventory Planning, Procurement, QA, Cell Processing and external 3 rd party warehouses, logistics providers and customs brokers. This role will also be responsible for participating in the selection of 3 rd party warehouses/depots, leading the implementation of these warehouses/depots and updating/developing internal standard operating procedures to reflect actual operations and ensure adequate material controls
Essential Functions and Duties
- Work closely with OvaScience processing labs to obtain updated inventory reports on a regular basis and execute resupply shipments to replenish inventory at the processing labs:
- Review inventory reports and generate shipments Issue distribution orders to 3 rd party warehouses and depots
- Pick, pack and ship inventory managed in house, including cold chain shipments
- Generate commercial invoices, packing lists, internal shipment notification forms and other shipping documentation as required
- Work with logistics providers, customs brokers and consignee
- ’s to execute and monitor shipments and export/import clearances as appropriate. Maintain shipping and customs files Maintain inventory levels internally and at 3 rd party warehouses and depots to the agreed to targets Act as primary vendor manager of 3 rd party warehouses and depots Proactively work with inventory planning to monitor and adjust inventory level targets as needed Execute investigations and corrective actions as required Participate in continuous improvement projects to support the organization as we scale Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Biology or a related field environment is a plus.
- At least 5 years’experience in a pharmaceutical/biotech supply chain or related area
- Experience managing 3rd Party Logistics services in a global
- Experience with ERP / MRP systems and processes is a plus
- Experience in project management preferred
- Experience with global logistics including shipping of temperature controlled and hazardous materials
