Sr. Dir. Warehousing Operations – AmerisourceBergen – Columbus, OH, USA

Under broad administrative direction of the VP of Manufacturing and Facilities Operations, leads the operations within the American Health Packaging (AHP) distribution center. Responsible for implementing corporate wide distribution best practices, developing and executing strategies that optimize current distribution functions and enabling seamless integration of growth strategies; currently planned to take AHP distribution from $360 million to $2B+ This role requires strategic development and tactical execution breadth, the ideal candidate must able and willing to get into the detail and lead by example to get things done.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and implements all activities associated with the successful warehouse operations; ensures efficient working operation of automated warehouse systems and processes.
Works closely with the associates in Operations to ensure the successful management of warehouse operations; ensures all other warehouse management processes are contributing to operating efficiencies.
Supports compliance with all appropriate policies, procedures, safety rules and DEA regulations.
Monitors performance and productivity measures for the purpose of maximizing earnings and expenses.
Develops, reviews, monitors and approves standard operating procedures; makes observations and recommends improvements to promote best-practice efficiency in distribution center earnings, accuracy, improved service and lower costs; creates standardized approach within distribution center.
Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Develops and executes solutions to complex problems.
Interacts with project sponsors, stakeholders and various project members to ensure that specified business needs are met; assists in the post-implementation analysis to ensure that requirements are fulfilled.
In alignment with the Company’s growth and direction, provides overall financial direction in order to manage the development of budgets, controls and measurements to monitor progress.
Assures that processes comply with cGMP Regulations 21 CFR 210,211.
Assures compliance with all DEA regulations applicable to the receipt, storage and distribution of Controlled Drug Substances.
Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with distribution center and other network associates.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement or a related field required. Graduate degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in customer service, distribution, logistics, manufacturing operations or general supply chain areas.
Certificate in CPIM (Certified in Production & Inventory Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) preferred.
APICS certification or demonstrated hands on equivalent desired.
Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements preferred.
DEA/Controlled substance handling experience a plus.
Cold chain / controlled temperature handling a plus.
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Must be self-directed with exceptional quantitative and analytical skills, communication, facilitation and presentation skills
Strong working knowledge of supply chain processes and planning systems

Strong written and oral communication skills required as well as the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and use influence skills effectively in a cross functional environment.
Develop and lead operational plans for the warehouse function, manage execution and measure results
Implement metrics that measure performance against industry benchmarks to drive best in class performance
Deliver highest levels of customer service performance while appropriately managing costs, partners and resources
Working knowledge of automated warehouse operating system
Working knowledge of ABC warehouse operations
Knowledge of computers to operative effectively with Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
