Job Summary
Direct and manage operations for cost effectiveness, efficiency, and safety
Ensure quality service to our customers and enrich working relationships with our vendors
Oversight of FDA and Internal audits
Knowledge of domestic and international pharmaceutical transportation
Knowledge of cold chain solutions to support Pharm & Biotech
Establish and monitor KPI’s both internally and for vendors
Division P&L management
Plan, troubleshoot, problem-solve and oversee day-to-day operations
Implement improvements for overall station performance
Lead, coach, mentor, counsel, and develop personnel
Maximize performance to positively impact station bottom-line profitability
Manage employee time sheets and time off requests
Participate in client consultation, quoting, booking, billing, arrange all aspects of air, ocean, and domestic transportation
Supervision and mentoring of direct reports
Handle carrier negotiations
Review and action various reports designed to assist in running the department efficiently
Conduct face to face meetings with carriers and clients
Travel required on occasion
Other duties/assignments as needed for AIT management
Develop customer SOP’s
Job Requirements
8-10 years of freight forwarding and temperature controlled experience with a proven track record of success in a management or leadership role
Proven ability to meet deadlines and obtain results through people
Excellent communication skills
Ability to manage numerous assignments simultaneously in an unpredictable, rapidly changing environment
High level of initiative; self starter who can work well under pressure
Intermediate knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Intimate knowledge of the air, ocean, and domestic process is required
Working knowledge of AE markets, carriers, and DG handling
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
Excellent Customer service skills
Knowledge of TSA and FDA regulations.
Ability to effectively schedule and monitor direct reports
Previous management experience is required
Bachelors degree preferred; experience can be substituted in lieu of education
