General Manager Logistics Solutions We are currently searching for a General Manager Logistics Solutions . Based in Toronto GTA (ON) or Montreal (QC) and reporting to the V.P.
Sales & Marketing, this position will be responsible to develop and build a 3rd Party Logistics Division that would allow our organization to extend transportation solutions throughout key markets in North America and beyond. Tasks & responsibilities Developing and defining a clear vision and strategy; Developing the ground work for establishing the operating division; Establish key partnerships with established, reputable partners; Effectively overseeing the development and execution of the strategy plan; Developing strong client relationships and provide full service solutions; Managing budgets and cost control. Qualifications: University Degree in Business or related discipline; Transportation related affiliations (CITT, PLOG or similar); A minimum of 10 years experience in an operational/business development position; Demonstrated experience in various modes of transportation requirements; Proven track record in developing a 3rd party operation; Proven track record in warehousing & distribution environment; Proven track record in standard & cold supply chain logistics; Proven track record in managing and developing a profitable and efficient business unit; Proven track record in sourcing and securing business development opportunities; Proven track record developing and maintaining solid partner agreements; Experience and/or knowledge international transportation markets. Skills Customer service oriented; ability to tailor specific client solutions; Dynamic leadership, business planning and analytical skills; Proficient in both English and French (if based in Montreal, QC); Advanced written and oral communications skills; Computer proficiency in MS Office products, AS 400 and other systems; Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail and accuracy; Experience in ISO standards; Understanding of 6-Sigma and Lean management methodologies.
