Director, Supply Chain Operations – GlaxoSmithKline – Conshohocken, PA, USA
The primary function of this role is to direct execution of materials, supply and capacity planning, logistics, and inventory management for drug substance supply to secondary manufacturing sites and customers while adhering to cGMPs and other applicable regulations. Additional responsibilities may include contract manufacturing operations (CMO) business development, contract development, negotiation, and administration, and client project management. Ensure strategy alignment and risk mitigation with central end-to-end supply chain functions.
The Director, Supply Chain Operations will also have the following responsibilities:

•Lead Site Supply Chain Operations (SCO) department with responsibility for materials and inventory management, logistics, supply and production planning, and warehousing operations.
•Align Site drug substance logistics and supply operations strategy and risk mitigation with biopharm network end-to-end supply chain functions.
•Ensure adherence to cGMP and other applicable GSK and external quality and safety regulations.
•Member of Site Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and contribute to development and execution of Site Strategy Deployment.
•SLT representative for procurement Site Liaison Manager (SLM) with dotted line reporting.
•Lead the deployment of the GSK Production System and embed ways of working within Supply Chain Operations team.
•Setting strategic vision for SCO team, understanding site goals, milestones and targets and ensuring alignment of the team.
•Lead endorsed supply chain continuous improvement initiatives such as inventory optimization
•Drive performance and reporting of supply chain KPIs.
•Ensure adherence to risk management policies and practices.
•Manage department headcount, resource, and budget planning processes.
•Bachelor Degree in Business, Supply Chain or Logistics
•10 years of leadership experience in a biopharmaceutical or supply chain environment
•10 years of experience with cGMP inspections
•5 years of experience in cold chain transportation
•Experience in contract development, negotiation and administration
•Experience in enterprise resource planning
•Strong written and verbal communication
•Masters in Biotechnology or Supply Chain
•Talent development, mentoring and coaching experience
•Experience creating and maintaining strategic intercompany business partnerships
